Rainy Day at the Campground.

So its been raining all day today at the campground. This explains why I'm on the Jayco Owner's forum instead of being outside.

So what do the rest of you do when it rains at the campground?

We always have a collection of board games, cards and movies for the kids. My wife and I normally sit under the awning and watch the rain come down with a bottle or two of wine.

Watch the rain and drink under the awning. Sometimes we play board games on the picnic table under the awning. Seems to be about the only time we make for board games. If its really raining, we go find a local watering hole and have a beer with the locals.

I think it's when you throw knives at each others feet... first one to move a foot loses. But then if you don't move your foot, you lose a toe. Either way, I guess it would be a losing game all the way around.

It's more fun after that bottle or two of wine.

Watch movies, play a game of uno, watch the kids play in the water coming off the awning, or if we are in a new place go explore. A rainy weekend is actually why we bought a travel trailer. After a long weekend of nearly non stop rain we decided the popup just wasn't cutting it. We did find an old mill that rainy weekend that a couple was working to restore. We now go to that mill every time we are in that area to see what they have done since our last visit.

I'll admit, I like to sit under the awning or on the couch looking out to see how others are dealing with the rain too. On occasion, I'll see an awning which isn't tilted and collecting water. If the owners are out, I'll usually tilt it for them.

Otherwise, it's time for Uno, Chess, cards, computer time, TV time and / or video game for the kids.

I have my satellite dish to fall back on but we also do all the other stuff. Especially like playing Phase 10 and SkipBo. Also Fast Track, a game played with a board, cards, and marbles. Doesn't take much to give us enjoyment. Sitting under the awning with a bottle of wine and a good book is right at the top! But then again, we have an empty nest!

My wife and I love playing Phase 10. I also have games for my child and a TV and DVD player. Rain has never bothered me as long as it's not all week long.

I tilt mine from the start just in case.

I get on the Jayco Forum for starters and cry the blues then pick up a book and get to the 3rd page and fall asleep, DW thinks I'm just a barrel of fun. All kidding aside were out in it anyway we always bring our rain gear and walk the dog or find a good ale house then go home and read till about 11:00 PM and turn in for the night. We love the sound of the rain in our Hybrid.
