Ready to camp!

Got the 24T out of the garage today and plugged up to the electric. Ready to de-winterize and go camping this weekend for a shakedown!

I'm jealous! We have a chance of snow on Monday, so it is still too early to de-winterize the fiver. Today it is sunny and in the lower 60's just to tease me. Oh, how I want to go rving.

We broke record heat today at 100 degrees in Phoenix. I can't believe we hit it so early in the year. Time to head to the mountains to cool off.

It hit 90 degree's here two days ago, then was in the 80's yesterday. It never gets that hot here (well rarely anyhow!). Back to overcast skies and cooler temps today!

This is now the next day and the snow is still coming down in buckets. I have been out twice to-day to shovel it as it is wet and heavy so by doing it twice it makes it easier on the old back. Have I mentioned that I hate this crap?!?!?!

We love to camp along the rim. It is beautiful and so much cooler than in the valley. We will be camping near Payson towards the end of this month. It is still hot today but we are to cool down into the mid to upper 80's this week.

Gettin Close

Will load everything we took out of sold trailer last fall into truck to take to new trailer next week or so. Will no doubt still have a list of forgots, I suppose. Really need to camp again! Just a touch of snow this morning, propelled by 60 - 80 mph gusts, per Weather Service. Think I would trade places with daughters in Ahwautukee/Scottsdale? Negative. I feel so sorry for them. They have husbands, kids, houses, such investment - IN A FRIGGIN DESERT!

Is it Monday already? The weekend went too quick. It was a little windy but the warm sunshine helped do the trick. Typically we start out the year with a quick run to Trail of Tears State Park (about 15 miles from the house) for our shake-down voyage. We have had a pop-up for 10 years so the move to the TT was a change. For years I have lived out of rubbermaid tubs and knew where everything was. Now there are drawers, cabinets, and storage areas to contend with. We enjoyed the weekend. The 1.5" memory foam topper for our mattress from Wally World was a great purchase.

Got the water turned on, radio cranked up, and awning out. Turned on the kitchen and water went everywhere. Long story short - found a lot of sediment in the screen. Got that cleaned out and the water flowed just fine. The camper (one year old) had been in the Kentucky Lake area so no doubt there was some well water deposits present.

We ran out of water which I was thought was amiss because we were cautious with using the water alot. I came alot with a friend with a TT but apparently he has a larger fresh water tank. So next time, I'll take a couple of 5 gallon fresh water jugs along just in case.

I backfed the antenna through the outside coax hookup so we could connect a tv to watch the NCAA tournament by the campfire.

Packing up was much faster than with the popup. But then I had to go to the dump station. I am used to hooking up and taking off! There was not a line or anyone waiting so I could take my time dumping and cleaning up.

Can wait till end of the month to go again!!

9 PM in Alabama and 74 degrees, storm due here in 2 hours. High tomorrow only around 60, windy but going to chase white ball around green grass!

We got home Friday pm from 2 week trip to South Alabama. Spring flowers in full bloom here. Leaves beginning to come out. Spring is springing!
