Rear ladder on 19BH

Can anyone PM me a picture of the rear ladder mounted on their 2010 19BH.
I would like to see the exact position of it.

I found the following photo thanks to google...., although the sales add said it was a 2005 19BH, I didn't think the 19BH had a slide.(?) Anyway, this is what came up;

Google uses "fuzzy" searches. In other words, Google and Google Image returns searches that are both exact and close to the search words. So, there is a chance the unit pictured is not the one you are looking for. I always check the source of an image in a Google Image search to make sure it is what I want.

Btw, according to Jayco's website, the 19BH doesn't have a slide.

Actually my 'google' wasn't an image search, just a brand/model and lead me to a number of RV dealers selling the 19BH TT. The pic was taken off a major RV dealership's web site and they identified it as a 19BH.......oh well.

I mounted the ladder on the Jayco. I called Jayco and had them fax me the blueprints of the rear wall. It was a fairly easy job, but jayco said that I would be voiding the warranty of my rear wall. The dealer told me the same thing unless they install it. Well it came out perfect and its been raining just about every day and no leaks.

Looks like a good job to me. Personally, I would have let the dealer do it to avoid the warranty issue but then, I'm paranoid. Btw, it is law that a manufacturer has to prove a modification caused something to fail before the manufacture can void the warranty. If you get a leak on the back wall on the other side of the trailer because sealant was misapplied or failed in use during the warranty period, the dealer would still be liable for repairs, and possibly damages, since it would be unable to prove your ladder installation caused the damage (of course, convincing them might be a bit of a challenge).

What's really useful for me is learning one can get blueprints from Jayco. Thanks for that info. That will be HUGE when I start modifying the unit I'm probably going to get.

One thing I have learned about TT ladders, as you use them keep an eye on the caulking around "all" the mounting pads (especially on the roof), they can crack and/or lose contact with the TT surface.

I agree. My next (future) TT will be without a ladder. Less holes in the outer panels, the better.

RV ladders in general just don't appear to be very stout to me. If I need to get on the roof I will use an extension ladder. The one on the trailer is for emergency use only in my opinion.

I hardly ever use my TT ladder, but I carry with me a Werner 13ft. telescoping-multi-position ladder. Folds up nice as well. I use it to clear the top of my slide before retracting it, and for just about any other needs around the TT.

I know a little about the Moss-Magnuson act.the dealers always try to scare you into getting the work done by them. It does not void the warranty of the whole trailer, and like you stated, they have to prove that the work you did caused the failure or problem.

You are right, the ladders aren't the sturdiest things. But I have on occasion needed to get on the roof while camping, and found myself parking my truck next to the trailer and climbing on the truck to get to the roof. It's just a little convenience that I felt I needed.
