Received my first Norcold Distribution Payment today.

As the title states, I received the first of 4 checks as a result of the Norcold lawsuit. It's not much, but better than nothing. And what I really like is the extended 3 year warranty they provided from the lawsuit. I have an N-8 series fridge. Now I have to figure out how to spend the extra $45 per year. Woohoo!

That should get you one beer and a campsite for one night.

Just Google Norcold Lawsuit, it was a class action lawsuit for some older models that had leaking problems.

At the time, a lot of Forum members were involved in this. Sorry, I guess I should have dated the thread. https://www.norcoldclassaction.com/home.aspx

I'm at work, but DW said ours came as well. I asked if I can retire now......she's still laughing.

I got mine today with a promise of 3 more at yearly payouts of 45.78. We are going to take a cruise!

I bet the lawyers already booked theirs!

I got mine over the weekend. Same $45.78, first of four annual installments, just like some of the others. Really having a hard time figuring out how to spend it!

Got my $45.78 today too. Did I read correctly that the N6 and N8 fridges also need to be replaced? The DW took the check and cashed it and I left the letter at work.

Got ours yesterday as well. Checked the serial numbers and ours is not one of the ones that needs to be replaced. Got the extra three year warranty too. Neighbor across the street got theirs as well, on a used camper they bought last year. It's hard budgeting for this huge windfall but I'll bet we'll figure it out.

No, it doesn't say the fridge needs to be replaced, just that for a certain run of S/Ns, it needs a "High Temperature Sensor, (HTS)" installed. For other serial numbers, it needs a new cooling unit (?).

Both are to be replaced at no cost to the owner.

ETA: Reading more closely, I guess it depends on which series of fridge you have.

No, just the cooling units need replacing if your fridge serial # falls between 1038000 and 1099000. My fridge serial # starts out with 149 so I'm good. Really enjoying the extra 3 year warranty though just in case.
