Rekeying Alike Question

While some of the new '17 models (maybe all, not sure) are allegedly all keyed the same, has anyone consider a "Lock Swap" thread for when we change the locks out so they are all keyed alike?

I don't recall the price of the complete assembly, but maybe due to s/h it wouldn't save any/much money vs buying from RVLocksandMore.com. Or maybe just try to keep it local if possible.

Any thoughts fellow JOF members???

Sean,

I am not looking for additional keys, but TY for the link in case I was.

My thought is a "Pay It Forward" thread for other members to possibly have the same key in all doors.

For example:

I have two sets of lock cylinders w/ keys for both the handle lock and dead bolt. I will have to double check once home, but I believe they are #332 and #339. If anyone would like one of them so their door match they are available.

Otherwise the cylinders are just lying around.

I could use a #339... The two different lock situation is driving my DH nuts!

I will double check once home that is the other key set. These are the cylinders only so you will need to visit a dealer or locksmith that has the yellow master key from Global to remove and install them. Maybe if you pay for the key a local locksmith will order it and allow you to install them in the parking lot or install them for free as a result.

I just ordered new compartment locks and one new door lock so I will be completely keyed alike, I will have a spare 333 entry door lock assembly and keys available shortly.

Cindi,

Send me your address in a pm. I will try to get the dead bolt set #339 in the mail the next few days. This is the yellow cylinder change key from rvlocksandmore.com that your dealer or a locksmith will need to have/order to swap the cylinders out..

Sean,

I bought all new matching lock cylinders last year, and was asking what others thought about a "Pay it forward thread" instead of just throwing the removed lock cylinders or lock assemblies away. Something I have been meaning to post for some time, and cleaning out a drawer the removed locks were in reminded me to post this thread.

TY again for the link in case I was looking for new keys or locks.

Mods: What do you think about renaming the thread? "Pay It Forward Lock Sets" maybe, or if you think of a better thread name that is fine also.

TY!!!

I've got a Bauer 354 and 302 for the entry doors. For the outside kitchen it's a global link 330.

I'm assuming the BEST scenario is one Bauer, one Global Link (FIC) and one 751 key. So, 3 keys down from 4?
