Relocating antenna

Has anyone ever relocated their TV antenna? Mine is in a prime spot I'm thinking about putting a solar panel. Plus, I find it interesting that the antenna is not right over where the TV is to reduce wire used and signal loss.

Truth be told I could probably get away without a TV or antenna both.

Dave

Never heard of it being done. You will leave a hole on the inside and outside. I bet you can patch the outside really easily, and seal it with a piece or two of eternabond tape. Inside you have to make it look good. I would consider adding a speaker to that location, even if it was not connected, it would look decent, and match the others.

As for moving it, I would contact Jayco for the roof prints.

To cover up the hole on the inside I'd be tempted to just leave the handle and the bezel in place. You'd have to buy some new pieces to re-install but if done right I'll bet almost no one would ever notice you have two antenna handles on the ceiling.

You are talking TV antenna and that's a bigger foor print. On many trailers and our Seneca, I have relocated antennas and other wiring for the roof, by using the cover plate over the refrigerator chimney. This chimney and the outside access to the back of your refirgerator are great ways to get to and from the roof with wires. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, open the access to teh back of your refrigerator and get a mirror to look up. Only place thjis doesn't work is if you have a refrigerator on a bump out.
