rolled up awning in the rain

Hi all,

When we left our campsite Sunday I had to roll up the awning while it was still wet from the rain we had there. I don't think the weather will let me dry it out until Friday. I know awnings need to be rolled up dry but I have no idea how long it can be wet inside without problems. I'm sure I am not the first person to encounter this problem.

Water gets in when it's rolled up and in the rain too.

Like grumpy said, even when they are rolled up they collect moisture. Mine is stored covered under a carport... it will get dripping wet just from humidity. I wouldn't worry about it for a minute. Open it up when you can to dry it out, but know that it will just get damp again the next time it rains or is humid.

They will get wet at any time. Don't worry about it. Just open it when you get a chance to dry it out. Even sitting in the yard, I'll open mine after we've had a period of rain, but it had now gotten sunny and dry.

Like Grumpy and Spoon mentioned, they get wet even when rolled up. You can open it and let it dry on a dry day but it will end up getting wet again even if rolled up. I dont open mine except when camping and to clean with a water bleach mixture 2x a year.
