roof vent question

i never notice until now, but both my vents have holes about halfway up the frame in four spots, is this normal or did maybe someone drill them for vent covers? my concern is snow making its way in over winter. its not the greatest pic, but hopefully you can see what i am talking about. thanks.

Yes.. that looks like it was drilled for a cover. Maxx Air Vent covers are drilled two holes on opposite sides. Although, the hole in your pic looks very close to the corner. I don't think I drilled my holes that close to any corners.

Cant see the holes but your description sounds like vent covers were installed and removed by the PO. I'd plug/cover them.

Looks like about the location for the MaxAir cover brackets. You might want to consider putting the MaxAir covers on yourself. They are a great addition, which is probably why a previous owner would keep them...

I installed these Maxxair covers on both my vents and had to drill 4 holes to install the brackets. LOVE these covers, keep them open most of the time rain or shine.

I removed the ones from my old rig and re-installed them on the new rig. That looks like the same hole.
