RV covers harm more than help?

So down here in the SW I have been advised to wash the RV with a good product 3 or more times a year vs. ever putting on a cover for the winter. The reason they say, is the dust and sand in the air that in-fact rubs on the siding and wearing it down and creating rub marks and hurting the siding.

What are your thoughts on this subject?
Does location matter?
Are the covers a "feel good measure"?

Anyway I won't bore you to you but just checking? I have anxiety seeing all the snow and ice on my RV.

The way I look at it is this.... Water gets into all the nooks and crannies then freezes and expands, then thaws, then water gets in again, the freezes and expands again....over time, this process could do harm. A good cover keeps the water off the trailer.. Also, protects from UV rays the other seasons, prolonging the life of the roof, trims, sealants, tires, etc..

For me, a properly fitted cover is a must when my trailer is in storage..

I would consider it for sure if we move to a place that doesn't allow RVs there.

I spent the money and got a carport. No rubbing, no worries about stowing a wet cover, don't have to fight getting it on and off... just drive it out, drive it in. No snow, no ice, no rain, easy access... perfect!

I have used a ADCO cover on mine for the past 3 years and have had no issues. I wash my TT before putting the cover on for the winter and even use it in the summer if I know I will not be using it for awhile to protect it from the trees and sun. Decals on my TT still look new even after 3 years. I keep the straps tight so there is no flapping of the cover during windy condition. I recommend covering it. I also have an AC cover as well as wheel covers.
