From the page: http://www.goodsamrvinsurance.com/

"Good Sam Club and America’s RV Insurance Specialist, GMAC Insurance, have teamed up to offer real RV coverage."

I am a Good Sam Club member but I don't have their insurance.

You may also want to get a quote from Progressive. May be even lower yet.

When we were shopping for "Fulltimer" Insurance, the Good Sam / GMAC quote came in with what we thought was the best coverage for the money so we went with them.

We have talked to some other Fulltimers that have GMAC insurance on their RV and had a claim with them, they were very satisfied.

Since we had GMAC life insurance and had employee discounts at GM, we got a super price, even lower than the first quote they gave us.

I don't care for Progressive's politics (understatement) so I won't use them no matter what the price but they've always been lower on our boat. We choose to pay more for another company. But not much more.

We had a really easy time getting GMAC insurance with a great price. We haven't had to use it yet so I can't help you there. But the coverage was better than it would have been with my auto insurer (Ameriprise through Costco) and half the price.

Definitely work a look at them!

We have our auto and RV insurance with Amica. They have very good rates. They do not insure motorcycles.

They have a great reputation but do not insure in many areas. I called them and they choose not to sell insurance in my home area on homes RV's or trucks over 1/2 ton.

I guess I must have missed the evening news one night! Anyway I had State Farm for years before for car insurance. Not sure what their politics were but they were much more expensive, which was adding to my personal deficit!

We have Geico.... Had them for years. Quoted tt rates at the time we bought the tt was better than other insurance carriers for the same policy. That was 2 1/2 years ago. Not sure what the newbie rates are.

Less concered by rates than coverage

I guess I should be more clear in my questions My concers are with coverage and claims processing. Over the last 40+ Years i have had more than a few less expensive insurance companies but I have rarely found good claims processing and honest coverage. Been with State Farm most of the time and been happy with them and their actual coverage. Recently had occasion to be impressed With Geico's handling of my wifes car.

So my question is has any one had any claims processed by Good Sam RV Insurace and where they happy with how it all worked out?

We are Good Sam members since 1989 and have had GMAC as our insurer for most of those years- Have had a few claims [ a fender bender, replaced a wind damaged awning, etc.] Have been very satisfied with all our contacts with their personnel- JMHO- Don

As far as coverage goes check a few key things. Replacement value insured for? New or current market of the unit you own? I recently upgraded to new current model year replacement in event of total loss. This is good for 5 years then will be at current market value. It also is not something you add to an older unit. The unit has to be within the current model year being produced.

Are you insured for physical harm of anyone on your campsite? Components covered? Roadside assitance coverage? Towing including unit and or TV? Where to? Some just get you to a gas station or safely off the highway. Some go to an authorized RV repair facility.

You'll probaly find there are varrying levels of coverage which may leave you on the short side if a loss occurs. I went through this process last year and learned alot about coverage differences.

Currently I have Geico. The few claims I have had on my vehicles be it glass or minor parking lot hits have been handled without issue. Other friends that have had more major claims have been handled well too. I also get a discount for having a CDL with the RV. This co just worked out for me in my case. I am sure GS has a great underwritter and will be just fine for you if you go that route. Just make sure you go over what your covered for and run some "what if's" by the agent you deal with.
