I think major issues, that can be detected at PDI are pretty rare. The dealer does "go over" the unit before you get there. Slides are opened, lights are on etc. In my experience and hearing from others, if it's something that can be fixed immediately they do. Typically some water is in the tank, pump is tested as are stove, frig, heater, radio etc. If you don't trust your dealer before the sale, why are you buying from them?

I trust the dealer, but if I can paraphrase President Reagan, "trust but verify". My experience in life has been sellers are more responsive before they get your money. Also, no dealer will take the time to go over the unit like I will. It is my hope that once I pick up my unit I will not see the dealer again until I purchase my next one.

They want to make sure your check clears before you take the unit off the lot. We had the same experience with them but got around it by taking a cashier's check for the full purchase price on the day we scheduled the PDI. Then it was one stop at the sales location and then on to the service location (they are in different parts of town) to do the PDI and take the trailer home.

If you are uncomfortable with paying before you get there, see if they will agree to this arrangement.

I fly out on April 12th and pick up my new rig on the 13th (also the Des Moines location.) If I get there before you do, I'll let you know how it goes.

I can't wait; it's drawing closer.
