Screen Room

Hello group. New Jayco owner here. We are having our 2012 36bhds delivered this week and was contemplating purchasing an add-a-room/screen room. Any suggestions on any types or brands is appreciated. Thanks.

Screen room for Jayco TT

We are on our 2nd Jayco, moving up to a new 2011 Jayco 36 BHDS this coming Monday as well.

In 2009 we added a Carefree of Colorado Screen Room LTD, plus a hard side door kit and a center support bar to our 26BH. The kit selected was for the 16 foot awning on the 26BH, but we are going to re-use it for now with the new 18 foot on 2011, by bringing in one side to save costs. We are on a seasonal site so we set and live in it weekends from May through October and the screen room is a great add. We have already logged over 40 nights and love the added room and outside access the room brings.

I recommend the LTD version because the flap clips are a breeze to use verses the Velcro on the standard version. In addition I have the clips on the trailer so the install and take done is very easy. The quality is great and the size is sufficient to work with our newer taller TT.

Good luck with the new trailer!

Had a screen room once, but never put it up. We were never in one place more than a weekend so didn't make it worthwhile, I suppose (and then, to be honest, we forgot we had it). I think that if we had a seasonal site like Bruce we'd have used it more...

I tend to use my EZ-UP awning. A lot of the sites we frequent have funky grounds and a standard screenroom may not work. We use the screen panels on the EZ-UP very rarely though.

Stay away from the Carefree of Colorado screen room they are cheap JUNK... I got one last fall and it was trashed the first winter.. (I snowbird) My Patty O Room lasted for 3 seasons and is still usable but the dealer talked me into getting the Carefree one.. I am now working on the Patty O Room to modify it to work with the elect awning.
