Securing Swivel Rockers In Travel?

Any tips for securing the 2 rear swivel chairs in our 26RLS. There are no straps to hold them to the ground.

The best way ti secure them is to secure them outside the trailer and replace them with a small L Z Boy recliner.

Which L Z Boy recliners do you use in your 28.5RLS and how do you secure them? I can't seem to find any that are small enough. Right now we carry one Jayco swivel/rocker on it's back and the other rides behind the slide.

I lay mine on the floor on it's back, and put a old towel under the legs so they don't dig into the carpet. Doesn't move at all.

Sorry, I'm not sure of the model. We chose the small ones and paid about $250 each. The back slips off and made getting them into the RV easy. We have to move them to the side near the door when we retract the slid out.

We have the swivel rockers in our HT 26.5 RLS and just slide the driver side on close to the door. Have found on four different trips that they don't move. Can still get into the FW, even with the slide closed and the chair moved over. Unfortunately, FW is just a little too short in the rear end for the chairs to just sit where they are when bringing the slide in. Our couch has some straps to secure the chair on the couch when traveling, but that seemed like a lot of work so we just move ours a little bit. They aren't very heavy.

Just turn them back to back and use a cheap ratchet strap to hold the backs together. That has worked well for us with our last two trailers.

Our trailer came with straps and "D" rings to secure the chairs to the floor. I think a number of RV store would stock these.

I installed "D" rings to the floor right behind the chairs and strap them down. Got the rings at Lowe's. The dealer showed me how to turn them up and strap them on the couch but that was way to much effort involved for me.

We just resolved this issue this past weekend. No matter how we placed them, on a bouncy road we would enevitably get to our destination and find that on or both chair had tipped on thier side and nicked up the top to the little end table or broke the mount to the fire extinquisher. The solution we found was to place the chairs back to back and run an appropriately sized bungey cord around them to hold them together. I got a box of assorted size wide bungey cords with plastic covered hooks at Target and found one in the box that went around both chairs with just the right tension. It actually slipped in the resessed seam between the cushions of the chair back. Got where I was going and they rode upright the whole way. I also found it useful to sit them both rugs with no-slip bottoms. I leave them on the rugs when in use. Hope this helps.

Ours are very heavy, and the bases do not move at all during travel. The rocking feature, however, does move, and would bang up against the wall. So, I found a hole in the stationary part of the base, put a 5/16" bolt in it, and it keeps the rocker from moving. Then just remove the bolt when we get to the CG, and all is well again.

We use the web strap that came with it to lash them together. They do not rock or slide.
