Question Settle an argument. Sticker maps on the camper

Ok so we have an "argument" here lol. I bought one of those maps of the country and put it on the door to the garage of our new TT. The argument is what states go on it. Is it only places this new TT has been or states we have camped? We had a PUP before upgrading to the Jayco. So should places we camped in the PUP be included? Then we have also rented an RV and traveled around Alaska. So do we include that trip as well? Hubby and I can not agree lol. so I thought I'd ask what others that have the sticker maps do lol

Boy that's a hard question. If it were me, and the sticker was on my fifth wheel, I would only mark the states that unit has stayed in. Perhaps on a forum if you used it as a signature pic or whatnot, I'd fill in everywhere you have stayed regardless of the unit because that's unique to you personally and the trailer sticker I believe should be unique to the trailer.

I know it's splitting hairs but I when I see one of those maps I assume those people and that unit have camped in those states. Otherwise where do you draw the line. If you have backpacked in many states, do you include those then on your RV?

Clear as mud? Good luck!

Hubby agrees with you that it is where the new camper has been. I feel like it is places we have camped because it makes for good conversation with other campers at the campground about your experience in XYZ lol. I'm wondering if it is the social campground chatter in me that likes it for that reason v hubby and his very straight forward thinking lol.

to add some confusion to the subject You had a pop-up and you put a map on it and you mark all the states that you and the pop-up have been in together Then you sell the pop-up and you didn't remove the map Should the new owner remove it and start a new map but then his new map wouldn't be true as the pop up may have been in more states than he was. Hope this makes the mud less clear.

Maybe to really clear things up you should put two maps on the new unit one for the new unit and where its been and one to show where you have been.
and if your with a new wife etc that hasn't been to all the places you been she should have her own map and also one for each of the children grand-children and don't forget to get a map for the pets.

And if something as petty as this causes an "argument" I would leave the map (s) off

I'm not sure what kind of stickers you're using but if it were me, I'd include every place we've been but use different colored stickers to indicate which rig we were in!

LMAO yeah see this is the conversation going here. I wouldn't say it is a real argument. Debate might be a better word for it. I didn't know when I bought the cute map that is would be controversial lol

Again my opinion Rather than having a argument, debate or whatever concerning a petty map I would rather spend my time enjoying the camping and making new friends.

You put a map on the RV and others see it and they see that you haven't included a state that the RV wasn't in. But you were in with a different RV. So the conversation is have you been in such or such a state or if you ever get to that state you should stay at or go see something when in reality you been there before and its one of your favorite places but you haven't been there in the new RV yet so therefore no sticker.

So when I see a RV with stickers on it I know they have been places But seeing a RV without stickers doesn't mean they haven't been places possibly they have been in more places.

Enjoy the camping

I would mark it places that you have gone. Together. Whether in the current RV or previous. Camped or just driven through

We're on our first TT, but I'm sure this discussion will come up if/when we change units. For what it's worth, we only add states we have stayed overnight in. We use the state magnets on our fridge to show states we've travelled through.

Having bought our first RV only last summer, this important issue should be resolved by the time we buy our second.

I think it should include all the states you have stayed camping overnight in as a family or group. I can't see starting the map over again each time you get a new camper. For some people the map would never have a chance to grow!

Put the stickers for all the states you have camped in, then buy a whack of JOF stickers and put them on the states you have visited with the Jayco! (I'm asking for a finders fee for all the JOF stickers he buys)

I agree with Emjayuu.

You may not live long enough or own the new rig long enough to visit every state you have been to already. Mark the ones you have been to or through together!

We don't do stickers, however what about all the foreign countries you have been to or for that matter Canadian Provinces you have been to?

The Bride and I had this discussion as well. We decided that it was about us and our travels so our map has states from both trailers.

Are people who see the stickers going to ask if you were there with that camper or if you were just there? Then do you think they will want to know how the camper felt about that state or you? If the camper is going to answer then only put the stickers of the states the camper has been too. Otherwise I would use the stickers of the people camping.

You should make a formal poll and let's the results decide.

This spring I have parked about 1100 RV's, to be honest I don't remember seeing a map on any of them.
