Shower shut-off valves
I would like to put shower shut-off valves on both of my showers (inside and outside) but I'm not sure which valves to get. Which ones are you guys using?
I found this DANCO one on the American Hope Depot website (not available in Canada) and it seems to have received horrible reviews, so I don't want to risk ordering it and paying all that shipping for a piece of junk.
Anything good available in Canadian stores?

I have the Danco version and have no problems with it. I push the button one way for off and the other for on. It's a pretty simple thing, i cant image improving it any. I bought it because Oxygenics did not always come with a built in on off switch and i bought the one without..

Question for those using shutoff valves...
My '12 26BH OEM shower head has a dial to change steam pattern and by turning all the way shuts off flow. I have used this opposed to installing an after market valve. Problem is when you turn the dial to start flow again for the first 10 seconds or so it's scalding hot even though we haven't touched the hot or cold knobs. Does the happen with the after market (Danco type) valves too?

I also use the Danco valves and am happy with them. No matter what valve you choose you will have to stand aside and count to 10 to keep from getting scalded.

I just finished putting in some shut off valves inside and out. I haven`t tried them out yet. I got them at Canadian tire for about $4 each. Hopefully they will work.

I bought one from Rona that I installed a few weeks back. I don't remember who made it but it was quite heavy and works very well. It was one of the only places I could find one. They do stock these in most of their stores.

That is why a flow control valve should be used. It allows a trickle of water to flow while you are soaping up. See the first and last attached: http://www.plumbingsupply.com/shower...e-control.html

The Danco shut off that we have does not close it all the way off. Still a blast of hot water for a few seconds. We are so used to it is no longer is a problem.
