Side to Side Weight

Has anyone with slides on one side determined the left side/right side weight differential?

I'm editing to make clear, I'm thinking about possible adjustments, for instance, to air pressure while driving.

Clutch, I never thought about
level before and after extending our slides. Next time we camp I'll see what our difference. Then I should be able to account for it while
setting up. Thanks. I learned something from your answer even if it wasn't on my point.

I don't have any numbers but with our old 5er if I had it level side to side I had to allow for the weight of the slides. Trailer level and run out both slides and the level would be about a half a bubble off. I have been told that a large slide adds about 1000 lbs.

cekkk,

Good question, and as you implied it can vary from one model to another (floorplans, size of slide, etc). Never weighed my TT tires independently (or one side versus the other). Your question brings up another: To what extent do RV manufactures control this condition in their design criteria?

Also, check over at RV.NET, I do recall a few months ago there was a thread on the same subject, don't recall the outcome.

I know that your question centers around "while in tow"...., but you may find this interesting: My loaded TT tongue weight is 1,200lbs, but with the slide extended (out) my loaded tongue weight drops to a little over 900lbs. Used Sherline Scale for results. Oh, I don't tow my TT with the slide out (got called out on this the last time I made this statement...lol)

Rustic Eagle, a trucker buddy I called tonight told me of a sand company that has three scales in a large open aread so I can not only weigh each axle independently, but then slide one side at a time off and get each wheels weight. He's sure they're not used too much and I can probably get it done for a few bucks.

I can understand how leveling can be affected when slides are out, but am really surprised that it lowers tonge weight. I'll just leave them out on 4-lanes. We've both followed folks who thought they owned the road for years. Maybe now it's our turn.

Cekkk,

Let us know what your results are, you have my curiosity peaked.

On my loaded tongue weight results...., I can only assume that with the slide out is takes the weight away from the center-line of the TT thus impacting the the tongue weight.

you should be able to weigh at any CAT public scales (usually at truck stops) I paid $10 for first weigh and $5 for second (trailer on- trailer off)
