Slide outs

We just got a new Whitehawk 25BHS- we never had a slideout before- is there any problem with leaving the slide out extended while its sitting in our driveway between trips?

Not at all. People who have their trailers on seasonal sites leave their slides out all season. If your slides have stabilizer jacks I would recommend using them.

I agree with the good Doctor. If the slides do not have stabilizer jacks (and most do not) don't put anything under the slides. If for some reason the trailer sits for extended periods, the tires do deflate and will cause the jacks to put upward pressure on the slide.

It may be miniscule but could be enough for water to get in.

My opinion and worth what you paid for it.

There's probably nothing wrong with doing that but keep an eye on the seals that keep the weather out. If you don't have toppers you'll need to clean the slide top before retracting.

I keep my RV plugged into shore power at my house and the slides are usually out all the time. It has never been an issue and this is after about one year of doing this on a regular daily basis.

I would recommend making sure the RV is level or very close to level though if the slides are going to be out. Keeps water from trying to get in due to any odd angles.

SLide ours out in early March and leave them our through October. Never had an issue
