Slide stabilizers

I've got a seasonal site for next year and was wondering if I need to have slide stabilizers for my slides... I don't really see a lot of them out there, so are they necessary?

If you have slide stabilizers and the trailer settles there is a possibility of damaging the slide mechanism. Could be big dollars to fix.

Someone who was looking for a business opportunity created an imagined need and then promoted it and provided a solution. The resulting business deals helped people get rid of money they didn't really need. If they came from the trailer factory and were required or recommended I would use them.

Would only change this a little. If they were needed, the factory would have installed them. Adding them after purchase is asking for trouble. You're slide will be fine. Just don't load up 800lbs of stuff on the couch or table.

I think you will find that RV manufacturers are just about 100% in agreement that these slide supports are NOT recommended, period.

Unless the owners manual calls for them STAY AWAY FROM THEM. More people hurt their slideouts with these than help them. When the RV is not in use pull the slideouts in.. it removes the stress on the frame and gives rodents fewer incursion areas.

Shouldn't need them. I've only seen one camper that had them. My luck, I'd pull slides in before releasing the stabilizers, anyway!
