Spray on Sealer...as advertised on TV

Has anyone used the spary on sealer (in White) on their roof to protect from leaks instead of using caulk...if so...what were the results...

just curious...

Hi, Toast!

After reading a recent post on this forum concerning care and maintenance of the roof, I'd be hesitant to spray anything on my roof unless approved by the roof membrane manufacturer. Looks like petroleum and other products could react and create more problems than would be solved. But then this is JMHO.

Have a great camping season!

There's very little I trust in advertising on TV... Especially "infomercials".....

It depends on what your roof is made of. I have a rubber roof and use Dicor Self Leveling Lap Sealant.

My father inlaw tried the spray on and it did not work at all. Now he has one heck of a mess with water damage and clean up to repair the roof. Just my 2 cents.

X2 - besides the undercoat from the auto parts store cost half as much and no shipping and handling.

I have NEVER seen anything advertised on TV where "second one FREE...just pay separate shipping and handling" was of any value. SCAMS...all of them!

X2. If that wonder sealer contains ANY petroleum distillates at all and you spray it on an EPDM roof membrane, it will immediately cause the membrane to lift/blister from the roof deck. I once sprayed one of those cans of wasp/hornet killer that shoots a stream of pesticide up to 20' on a mud dauber nest built under a slide topper on our fifth wheel. Despite my best effort to avoid it, some of the pesticide dripped on the slide's roof membrane, causing a blister the size of a silver dollar in the membrane.
