Staple On Roof Causing Problems?

I called my parents yesterday to see when they planned on taking the camper out of storage. They told me they went to put some items in the camper at the storage lot last week and it wasn't there. It turns out the spotted a staple that wasn't in all the way or something along those lines. I didn't have time to get into it with them.

Anyway, the camper is brand new and only used 4 or 5 times in the fall before it's first winterzation. The storage lot called Jayco to see what they wanted to do about the situation and we are still waiting to hear back on that.

That's all I know at the moment. Does this sound like it could be a big issue? Any ideas on anything?

From your description, it sounds like it could be a staple on the roof caused a leak. The confusing part is the storage lot's involvement but maybe they play some part in the ongoing maintenance as part of the storage service.

Anyway, that's my guess!

The dealer has a storage lot. We're still new to the RV scene and I believe my mom said it was a process of doing or inspecting the roof once a year. That's when they noticed the problem. The dealer/storage called my parents and also contacted Jayco to see how they wanted to handle the repair process since it' sunder warranty.

The only other piece of info I could get from my Mom was that she thinks the staple is pointing up and it didn't close/ The staple is under a seam and the dealer said it wasn't a big problem. My parents are going tomorrow and if I get out of work early enough I'll join them.
