Storm Front has passed, ready to head North.

Now that the storm front has passed it is time to scatch the "Hitch Itch" and head North.

We are pulling out mid morning today heading to Tennessee for a week or so then heading to Pensacola Florida after the New Year.

Weather temp forcast does not look too bad, we should be warm and toasty and hope to have no problems while in the Tennessee mountians.

Looking forward to a change of scenery for a week or so.

We have friends heading South this morning from Syracuse, NY towards Winchester, VA pulling a Designer. Hope all of you have a good trip, both North and South bound. Personnaly we are camped in Port Charlotte, FL. The only place we are heading today is to the beach on the Harley.

Looks like the bad stuff going on from Texas thru the South has now moved up to North. We even got a dusting of SNOW last night here in Northern Virginia.. I'd say smooth sailing down to the Gulf area. No telling what you might find on the ground around the Gatlinburg area. - Pensacola area looking good. I guess North Texas still has alot of snow on the ground - the Texas local Police scanner is very active with cars and trucks crashes on the main roads... They have been at it all night long.... You might see alot of snow on the ground still from the storm along the way with slick spots in the higher country. Plan accordingly

This is as of 8:25AM EST

Hausknwa - last fall in October we met a couple from NY in Shenandoah Valley CG (Verona, VA) that had a 2004 Designer 5er, same year but different floor plan as our Designer. They were headed to FLA at the time. Believe their truck was a white or light colored Chevy. Unfortunately, I don't remember their names. Very nice friendly folks. Wonder if your friends are the same couple ? Ask if they remember us, and if they are the same couple, please say Hey to them for us when you see them.

per previous post, DW just remembered that the lady was a quilter, and showed her some quilts inside the 5er.

Tinlizzie,
I will ask them if they met you. It sure sounds like them complete with chevy truck and sewing/quilting. However, i don't think they came to FL until late December. It is very possible that they were on their way to visit children in the Carolinas. At anyrate, I will ask. They also read this forum, but I don't know their handle. I also think that their rig is a 2005, but not sure. Sure hope they beat the weather. I sent him a couple of GCs near their route along the way incase they need something.
