Surround Sound

We just purchased a used Jaco Designer 5th wheel 34RLQS. The previous owner kept the 5.1 theater receiver but left the ceiling, sub-woofer speakers and wiring to the entertaiment center. I contacted Jayco Customer Service who tolm me the original receiver brand was an Executive and that they are no longer in business. I have puchased a 1000 watt Samsung 5.1 home theater system which I want to intigrate with the original speaker system. From what I can tell the Samsung is 165 watt per channel. I do not know what the ceiling speakers are rated for. Not being an audio expert my question is can I damage the original speaker system using the new Samsung unit? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Technically yes, but it would be so ear piercing loud and so distorted before you actually did any real damage that you'd turn it down out of common sense. Just my .02
