the removable/foldout bed-dinner table

hey guys quick question about this fold out table on my jayflight, (i think its a jayflight)

anyways, supposedly this dinner table converts into a bed and i was just curious because i dont use it but the table itself is VERY wobbly bc people usually use a table top to lift themselves up when they get out of the chair (human nature) and the table top wants to "give" and ends up being distorted semi-permanently into a position leaning up or down until you push it back into place. long term is this bad?

i have looked at the legs of the table and they appear to attach at the bottom inside a hole surrounded by a stainless steel ring with some bolts drilled around it.

im curious is this thing going to break under the load people give to it when they get up and out of the dining area? supposedly this thing is supposed to pop out so i understand why it is doing this but should it break, i would like to know enough about it to prevent anything like that before it happens

anyone have experience with these?

By nature they are not real strong. If yours is like mine the legs come out, the table goes down on the bench seats and the cushions cover the table to make a bed. I would discourage them from using the table to lift themselves up, as this will lever all the weight to one side and put pressure on the legs and their floor mounts. You are not alone in having a somewhat wobbly dinette.

WE just brought home a 23MDS and don't remember the table being so wobbly when we looked at the trailer before we bought it. The schooling at the dealership included showing us how to make the table into a bed and then the table was put back together. We have had it apart a half dozen times trying to figure out why it is so wobbly but after reading this thread I am afraid that this is not fixable. Is this a common complaint? It sure is unacceptable!

Make sure the screws are tight. Also you can get a different type of metal base, in which the leg turns and locks in place. They are stronger, just be careful because you don't want the screws going through the plywood floor deck.

I am planning on getting folding table legs for our table and getting rid of the metal base. We had folding legs on the table in our Jayfeather but the Eagle has the metal base. That way the table can be pulled away from the seats to get up and it makes it easier to slide around to the back of the U shaped dinette.

Can we get a picture? There are tables with sturdy metal poles and tables with scissor type legs. Which one are you referring to?
