Question Thermal package

Is there a way to check to see if the Bungalow we have has this package. We bought it used and did not get any of the orginal paperwork. Talked to the dealership and got told no way. Is there something I can check myself on this trailer to see. Mostly interested in the tanks getting heated.

Did you get a copy of the build sheet? The dealer should have supplied it. It will have it there.

Otherwise contact Jayco with the VIN.

No build sheet. Was kind of hoping that I could look somewhere in the trailer and see if it came with the thermal package without going to Jayco.

If you go to Jayco's website and go down to the bottom of the page to the Contact Me tab, then click the Service Tab, send the VIN number and your request, they usually respond within a couple of days with the requested info / documents.

My 2012 HT has a little tab back by the curb-side of the trailer saying mine has the "Glacier" package. At least that's what I think it says.

From the Jayco Web site for Bungalows

"Thermal Package (Optional)
Insulated, heated and enclosed underbelly and 2-sided reflective foil insulation in main roof and slideout roofs"

Best guess is to look under and see if the underbelly is enclosed...
Or contact Jayco with VIN to be sure

The underbelly is enclosed, so that is looking good. Will most likely send Jayco the vin and see for sure. Thanx everybody

The underbelly being enclosed does not necessarily mean it has the thermal package. The whitehawk's all have enclosed underbelly but the glacier package us an option.

There is a lot of discussion, not only on this forum, as to what the "thermal" packages consist of. It doesn't matter that they are called Polar, Glacier, Arctic, whatever, this does not mean that you have a four season trailer. Usually a cold weather package from the manufacturer means there is a 2" duct running off of a heater duct going to the tank area. You'll only find this when the bottom of the railer is covered by coroplast. You will unlikely find any type of insulation under the frame, fiberglass or otherwise. You would do well to find out just exactly what kind of cold weather protection your trailer was built with. You may be shocked to the answers you get, but not nearly as surprised as you may be when you wake up on a sub-freezing morning. Your best bet for freeze protection is going to be tank and pipe heaters, and I doubt you are going to find any of that factory installed.

Yep, there is a chance that we might move to northern Az in the future, temps will be mid 20's at night but get to about 35 during the day. Sooooooo thats why I am asking.
Trying to see if the Bungalow would be worth keeping and move it or get something else, not a stick and brick house but something with wheels. so it can be moved. Northern Az does get real cold, it is the southern part that stays warm.

We have it and I think it also helps for noise and a/c during very hot weather.

Enclosed underbelly certainly helps with the cold, even if you have to slip a heater in there >10* to keep your tanks from freezing. But in the heat- AZ heat. you need some reflective stuff in the windows or you will cook.... Even the cheap stuff from Lowes cut to fit will do wonders.
