tire care on permanent site trailer

Okay we are putting our 330rlts on a permanent site possibly for two or three years. What should we do to preserve the tires on the rig. I want tire covers but what about putting those thick plastic panels between the ground and the tires do they work or are they just a gimmick? I believe one side will be up on leveling blocks but the other will have ground contact.

Tire covers YES.. but be aware that tires sitting that long in one spot will "flat spot" or go out of round.. just from the weight of the RV sitting on it like that.. When you pull out from there go slow for the first couple of miles so the tires can work them selves back into shape..

We use roof shingles, then 2X8 PT wood under our tires. As Seann said, yes on the tire covers.

I always keep wood or plastic under the tires for long time parking.

I would think if it was going to be stored for that long a period of time, I would rather put it up on blocks and let out about half of the air in the tires. I would still cover the tires to minimize Sun and Weather exposure...They do this all the time on regular trailers...

I have been thinking about it since you brought this up. I think for that long I would get some blocks and pick it up so there is little or no weight on the tires. Set it up just as if it were a trailer house with a block about every 8 ft.
