Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Am considering putting a TPMS on my Christmas list this year. I'm not real familiar with the various ones on the market, but have googled the Minder Research version. Looks like a good one, based on manufacturers claims, but is very pricey, IMHO. Would like to hear recommendations, good and bad, from some of you who were/are using various different systems. BTW, I would be installing on a 33 foot 5er, and maybe include the F350 TV tires as well, if the system allows it. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

Am interested in this myself. Been thinking about the ones that also give the temp as well as tire pressure.

I have the TST 507 system and absolutely love it. I purchased the 4 sensor system back in the spring for a trip to Panama City, FL and it worked perfectly. Last week I added 4 more sensors to cover my TV. The one thing that I love about having the system is I am not constantly looking in the rear view mirrors to see if I see pieces of a flat tire tearing up the side of my 5'er. I still look in the mirrors, but this system gives me a lot of peace of mind. Before my trip yesterday one of the wheel sensor battery's was low (warning on the in cab monitor), and I just changed it. The battery's are user replaceable.

The system works perfectly with my 5'er and the signal booster is not needed for me.

I have the TST 510 system with 8 sensors. It has worked flawlessly for almost a year. Already saved me $$$ once. I do recommend going to solid valve stems.

I agree on the metal valve stems.

Two questions on the TST systems. Do they monitor temp as well as pressure ? And can you give me a ballpark cost ? Thanks

I've had the TST system for over 2yrs and it is the 2nd one I've had. Much better then the other make and it does monitor temps. The minimum pressure level can be programmed. I've got the booster also for consistent reading. I'm happy with it. Check around online, I know Camping Worlds Web site has it. Compare prices from several sources.

Thanks, Ed, Norty, and elder2 - will definitely check on the TST systems. Appreciate the recommendations.

I've had a DORAN 360RV 14 sensor system for about 5 years and have extended SS tire valves installed in all wheels. The system consists of 6 sensors on the MH, 2 on the dolly, 4 on the toad, and 2 on the dolly & toad spares. Never had any problems with the system. Saved my butt when an inner dully suddenly lost pressure. Was able to slow down before the tire disintergrated and tore up the rig. When I sold the rig I took the monitor with me & bought new sensors for the Seneca.
High recommended!!

Still high on my system. They have flo-thru sensors now. I am still liking my system. Sure is good for peace of mind to see pressure and temperature of each tire on a real time basis.

Just a reminder, Tweetys.com sponsors this site, they have the same pricing with the same free shipping. You should really try to remember that when you need rv parts. We do need their sponsorship to keep the site up and running. http://tweetys.com/tst-507rv-system-...-shipping.aspx

We have the Presssure Pro system. We purchased it when we bought our coach. I'm not so worried about the tire temp as I am the pressure. If I was in the market now a system, I would definitely want the flow thru monitors.

Add us to the TST users. It has "saved" us several times since purchasing it about 4 years ago. Hugs, Di

Another good use for TPMS systems is when you are on a site for an extended period and you want to make sure your tires are still up to pressure. Just turn your TPMS on, if you have left the sensors on the tires obviously, and see what you have. No pulling the slides in or getting out the pressure gauge.

If I remember correctly, JOF members are also given a discount on the regular price when ordering from Tweetys. Can't remember just what percentage it is, but I remembered to ask for the discount the last time I ordered from them, and it was cheerfully deducted from my total. Another good reason to order from Tweetys.

No intentional slighting the sponsor. I wanted to put a picture on the post and a Google search brought that one up first. I wish there was an easier way to find out if Tweet's carried a particular product, like a link from the forum.

I will try to use them as a reference if possible. I was not aware of the member discount mentioned in the last post.

I have had TireTracker Monitoring system on my RV and toad for over 3 years. I could not tell you the numbers of times I have been told of low pressure in one of the ten tires. When one of my Toads brakes burned out the sensor was destroyed and they replaced it at no charge. It is nice to get in the drivers seat and check all your tires before you pull out and know they are ready to go. When on the road it tell you when they get low or even high. I would not do without.
