Tire/wheel covers....needed in the shade?

My trailer is parked in a very shady spot. It gets very little sun and the tires get almost no sun. But this is not in an enclosed garage so UV rays are there I'm sure.

Do I really need the tire covers?

Probably depends on how long you leave it sit w/o use.

How often do you get out camping?

We are using the trailer once every 6 weeks or so currently. Usually for quick 2-3 night trips. It will get used a little more often when cooler temps reach south Florida.

And yeah...I'm in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area so it's hot and sunny!!!!

To add....I keep the trailer nice and clean and spray the tire shine on the tires.

I see seasonal/permanent units with tire covers on in shady spots in RV parks, but then I also see the same types with no tire covers. Keep an eye out for some sales, and they are a better idea (less $$) then. LOL

They are not that expensive.. go for the covers...

X2 on getting the covers. They are not all that expensive. I don't use them "in season", but from late Oct - Late April they are covered. If for no other reason than to minimize rust on the wheels.

I have the covers. Brand new never even took them out of the boxes yet. I just don't like the look of them, makes the trailer look "stored" in front of my house. I will use them during times when the trailer is sitting though. Right now we are using it once a month or so.
