I do drain the fresh water holding tank before I leave the campground but do not drain the hot water heater unless I am at a campground that has well water. I used to drain the fresh water tank as I was going down the highway but I was pulled over one time and informed that this is illegal....at least that is what the State Trooper told me even though it is fresh water....I did not question him and will not do it again as I have found that you never win one of these discussions with out going through some pain ...I also never thought about the bikers.
