Traveling with TV mounted??

Hi friends,
I know there will be a lot of opinions about this.. but I want to hear
a some different ideas..

If you have a TV mounted to your wall.. and you travel with it attached, what brand of TV mount do you use?

If you remove your TV when travelling.. how hard is it to take down? Is there a brand of mounting bracket that is easier to deal with, to take it down?

If you take it down when travelling.. where do you store it?

Is there a TV mount horror story that you would like to tell me..?

We had a wall mount bracket installed by a local dealer so it was done right in our 2010 Nomad.

The only time we took it down was when it was parked for the winter and took it home. Never any issues.

One thing more I will say it was mounted on the wall very near above the axles so it rode good.

Sorry I don't have the brand name.

We have the G2 so our tt came with the tv already mounted on the wall. We just make sure that the 'arms' are sinched down tight so it doesn't move during transit

What I did is put two different mounts together to allow my TV to be removed for travel. I disconnect the wiring (which I put together in wire loom and zip ties), lift and separate and place it face down on the bed. TV is a 23" Samsung.

Here are the parts:

We also have the same one as Quahog for the bedroom.

It is easy to take down for traveling. We wrap it up in a blanket, put a pillow on the floor between bed and wall, tv, another pillow. Over kill maybe, but it makes me feel better. =)

Like Quahog and Lady Ann, I have the same setup, may have even gotten the idea from Quahog? The main reason is so the TV can be removed and used outdoors. Anyway, the TV is in the rear most part of the trailer which is subject to the most bounce. It takes just 10 seconds to remove and I put it on the bed under the covers so it's protected.

I am considering putting some sort of shelf or bracket when the TV is in the stored position for added bracing. If it were mounted before the axle's I would more than likely leave it on the wall.

We just picked up our x23B and it came with a 22 inch tv already mounted. While traveling the tv locks into the mounting bracket and is flat against the wall...there is a ball-chain pull cord that you have to pull to release the mounting arm into the swing position so you can freely move the tv for viewing...hope that makes sense.

Or 23 b came with the tv mounted but we moved it up off the cabinet and onto the side of the cabinet. We purchased the mount at the rv dealer. We added straps and a padded cover for transportation and have never taken it down and never had a problem.

I bought mounts here http://www.jensenrvdirect.com/produc...tv-mounts.html
it is very easy to remove the TV. I am using the MAF30 in the bedroom of my 298RES, I also got the extra mount bracket and put it in my garage so I could use the TV there as well.

We installed one of these locking tv mount.

http://www.tvformyrv.com/tv1-021-art...-tv-wall-mount

We traveled over 7000 miles last summer and through the rockies with the tv mounted on wall and never had any issues with the it and it was very easy to install.

Hope this helps.

I purchased a tilting mount for my 22" Samsung. Left it up when pulling and had no problem with it.

This is the mount that I use. The mount is two pieces and the television slides off of the mount that is attached to the wall. I always take them down when I hit the road. They are absolutely awesome, and very reasonably priced. These mounts are available online at amazon.

Here is the item description: Level Mount AISOA Full Motion Small Single Arm Cantilever Mount for 10" to 30" Displays(Black)

I have the Thule TV mount. I leave my tv, a Vizio 19 inch in the trailer, and mounted to the wall when traveling. If I want to remove the tv from the wall all I have to do is "pull the trigger" and lift up. There is a strap that Velcro's around the TV when traveling. There is also a rubber foot to brace the bottom of the tv to the wall. I have been using this mount for over 2 years and have not had a problem.

I just use the tilt wall bracket. I was concerned about the cantilever weight effect of the TT bouncing on the road. Using the tilt bracket I leave my TV mounted all the time.

We have a bracket installed by Jayco that doesn't swivel or tilt. It's pretty solid and we don't take our television off the wall when traveling. If you don't have to have a tilt or swivel, I would recommend talking to Jayco and see what bracket they put in the trailers like my FW, Eagle SuperLite HT 26.5 RLS.
