TRC Surgeguard EMS

I have a portable 30A SurgeGuard that I use with plugged in, however I just picked up a Honda EU2001 so I can increase my dry camping stays. Should the EMS be used with a generator or are the pure sine wave interver type generators good enough to not need the EMS?

Nothing wrong with using it as you can have a surge with a generator too....but may not work because of the way the ground/neutral are setup. The ems may detect an error and not allow the power to come on.

IF the gen runs out of fuel it will send spike voltages thru the system.. so I would use it ...

A governor spring broke on my parents little 650 watt Honda generator. It burned out every light bulb that was on. Luckily no other damage occured.
