TT In Driveway - Slides In Or Out?
The title pretty much says it all. When the TT is stored in the driveway, should the slides be in or out? Why?
I would think in because you're putting less strain on the TT by keeping them in.

I guess the key word is "stored". Assuming that the stabilizers are up, TT tongue is raised so water/snow drains off the rear, I keep my slide in. Also, keeps the build up of snow/ice off the slide roof and away from the seals which aren't as robust as the TT roof.

Slides in with stabilizers up and the TT stored next to the S&B. It is also winterized and plugged in to 120v.
Can't have the slides out if the cover is on and that will be on until March 2013.

I leave my slides in for the winter, and the unit plugged into shore power to keep battery charged. It is stored beside the garage at home, so is easy to keep check on. Reasons are: 1) slide out toppers would not do well with several inches of snow on them. 2) I feel the extra weight farther out would put additional unnecessary long-term strain on the slide out mechanism. 3) With the hanging moisture absorbent cartridges I use inside, having the slideouts in creates a smaller space to keep dehumidified. I'm a mailman and there are quite a few TT's and FW's along my route. Most of them are kept next to the house all year long. Many of these have only been used once or twice all season. Sad.
Anyway, a few of these actually have the slides out the entire summer while stored at the house. I don't understand. It just seems like you are putting undue stress on the slides and opening yourself up for problems.

Slide outs IN.. keeps the critters and weather out better... why expose the slideout to snow load rain etc?

My owners manual has the following notation under SLIDEOUT SYSTEM -
NOTE: For long-term storage: It is recommend the room be closed (retracted).
Even if the manual didn't advise the slideout be IN when the unit is stored, my parking space doesn't have sufficient room to extend it.

How are you liking that TT? My brother just got the bunk 28' bunk version White Hawk and is taking it for the maiden voyage Wednesday. My parents were looking at the rear living room that you have but they weren't thrilled about the pass through bathroom.

We've been very pleased with our White Hawk. 4000 miles and we have no squawks. I recently mentioned in another post that we have yet to need any warranty work. We may just be easy to please but we don't have any complaints.
I don't believe we could have a larger bathroom area without it placed where it is in the floorplan. It has certainly worked for us.

It's funny. We only got our first TT last September. Now that we have one, we seem to notice that a LOT of people have them too. I guess we just never really noticed it.

I am jealous of your storage. I wish there were some covered ones offered by me.
