TV/DVD issue

We just purchased a 2015 Jay Flight, we live in the Country, and do not get TV reception. We have been trying to play DVD's, but all we get is "No signal" Does the TV need to be set on a designated channel or setting HDM1, HDM2? Very frustrated, no trouble shooting in the Manuel. Two remotes, tons of buttons, no direction.

Do you have a separate DVD player, or is it integrated into the TV?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the trailer.

Sorry, I can't help with your question. Hopefully someone else in the forum will be able to help you.

Did they cover operating this in your PDI? Maybe you could contact the dealer for help and the person doing the PDIs could walk you through it.

If the DVD player is a seperate unit from the TV, then it will have either an HDMI cable, or red/yellow/white RCA cables connecting the DVD player to the TV. If you follow this cabling to the TV set, the connection should be labled something like EXT 1, EXT 2, HDMI (if using a HDMI cable) or simular. Your TV's remote, or TV's menu screen will allow you to set the TV's "input" to this connection.

Here's some pictures of the cables I'm refering to:

TV/DVD issues

The system is a (iRV) IRV6500BT, it is mounted under the Jensen TV, it controls the stereo/CD and TV/DVD, all mounted together in a corner cabinet. The mode button will switch from DVD, USB, AUXIN, SID and Radio. We can hear the DVD, just no picture.

I know the TV works, it worked just fine at the dealership, and we have not changed any of the wiring.

Your television remote should have an "input" button. With the TV on, press that button to access the "input" menu. Your remote may also have a second set of directional arrow buttons (separate from the channel/volume arrows) that work on the input menu. Use them to scroll up/down to the "AV" or "DVD" option, then select that option with the "OK" or "Select" button. That should bring the DVD output to your screen. You can then use your Radio/CD/DVD remote to control the DVD track and volume.

From time to time, my entertainment system would do the same as yours: I'd hear the soundtrack through the speakers, but no picture . . . and I'd get the "No Signal" message, too. The yellow RCA jack is the "Video In" plug. I found mine was not making a strong connection, so I pulled out the plug, squeezed the tabs together slightly, then plugged it back in. That would generally take care of the problem.
Jayco uses a really cheap RCA cord, and eventually, the center post on that plug broke off and I had to replace the whole cord. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attach the new cord to the old one and pull the old cord through the wall with the new cord trailing behind. So I ran the new cord directly to the Jensen through a cutout in the floor panel of the cubby above the Jensen. Once I get back to Michigan, I'll take it into the dealer where I purchased it, and let them fish the new cord through the wall (or remove the trim & wall panel to do it) as a warranty repair.

Hope this helps solve your issue.

If you get audio but no sound then its not using hdmi cable, which provides both. They may have used the red/white stereo cables and the yellow video cable, which may not be plugged in properly. Easiest thing would be to slide the unit out and look at connections, and replace what they used with a quality hdmi cable.

My guess is its the yellow [vidio in] cable. Take out the screws holding the radio and look at the back. Checked mine and the vidio cable had not been connected at the factory. Understand this is a common thing. Also check the back of the tv and see if the vidio cable is connected. Like previous post, the feed to the TV is thru the red/white/yellow RCA cable. Check your imputs and it will be something other [not] than ant or hdmi.

Got mine working but never used. Purchased a Blueray at WWorld for $47 and connected it with an HDMI cable. DVD player thru the radio is probably not blueray.

We have a new 23MB and we're on our inaugural trip. Today, we were unable to get a picture on the factory installed Jensen 28 inch tv when we played a dvd. Sound came through the interior and exterior speakers, but no picture. After searching through several threads on related subjects, I found this thread. So, I checked the connections on the back of the TV. The RCA audio connectors were in the correct spots, but not the yellow video connector. I corrected that and still no picture. So, I took out the 4 screws holding the iRV unit in place and checked the connections on the back. Both the RCA audio and video cables were connected to the "in" connectors. I switched them to the "out" connections and now everything works fine. Just as others have posted here many times, the connections were not made correctly at the factory. I hope this helps others who have the same issue.

We had a similar problem. Found one cable pulled loose behind the radio. I added some longer cables.
