Tv question: Ac/Dc

Help guys, I want to buy tv for bedroom, will a tv that is both ac/dc run off dc if plugged into regular wall socket from the battery or will I need to plug into cigarette type plug. I don't want to use generator or shore power, just the battery banks and I see they make TV for both types of operations. The problem is I don't have a 12v plug close to tv mount, just regular house type plugs. Hope this makes sense, and thanks in advance.

I don't think it will work plugging it into the wall plug, you are going to have to hook it up to a 12v plug.

12v TV's are rare anymore. They are available but why? I would get a small LED tv and a small inverter to power it. This also means wiring a 12v outlet in the BR.

I'm good for about 5 minutes laying in bed watching tv so in my case it would be useless.

My 24" Insigna from Best Buy is a 12v TV. I had to get the adapter to plug it into the cigarette lighter outlet from Radio Shack, as the guys at Best Buy were totally clueless on what I needed. The TV comes with a cord the converts the 120 vac to 12 vdc. I carry both cords in the trailer. If we are stopped for lunch, we can watch the local news and grab the weather even if the cellular service is not good.
