Two Questions - awning & bunk end covers

When we opened up our awning for the first time this season (electric), the back arm didn't want to come out. We had to help it along for a foot or so before it started moving along with the other arm. When I put it out last night to install the awning lights, the same problem occured. Any ideas on what might cause this, whether it might be a quick fix? My dealer is awesome and it's no problem to go over and have them take a look - I just didn't want to deal with lugging it over there if we can take care of it at home.

Also - completely unrelated - this one is for anyone with a hybrid that uses bunk end covers. We got our new super high wind covers last week and I can't figure out how the heck to attach them underneath. The surface under the bunk is smooth, not like the popup that had a lip around the edge. All I can figure is to attach the bungees to one another on the opposite side, but it seems like that would cause it to slide down from the roof. Thoughts?

Got our first trip of the season on Friday - can't wait to get out there!

Can't help you on the awning, but we had the bunk end covers when we had a hybrid and we constantly battled the covers sliding down, as well. We also had to connect the bungees to each other underneath. On top, we clipped along the seam of the fabric. We clamped along the ridge across the top. The more clips the better. We put extra elastic cords on the covers. All with limited success. The only thing that really worked was getting a different trailer. All that being said, those bunk end covers really work well if you can keep them up to the top.

We have the super high wind PUGs too. We attach the bungees to each other on the bottom side of the bunk and use black medium size binder clips on the top rail to keep it from sliding down. You can adjust the length of each bungee by changing the position of the knot on the clip. If you have questions, give Bob a call at popup gizmo and he'll provide lots of advice.

Your awning arm may be sticking if the trailer is not level. I have that problem occasionally.

I can help you with the PUGs. I used them on my PU and when I was going to get them for my 17X I could not figure out a good way to attach them to the trailer. I ended up calling Pop Up Gizmos/Bob Pitney the ower and asked him how to connect them. What he did was sew the soft side of a strip of Velcro onto the edge of my covers (the edge that attaches to the camper). I installed the rough side of sticky back Velcro on the lip that runs around the bunkend opening. I installed the covers 3 years ago and have only removed them for cleaning once or twice a year. I have not had any problems with leaving the covers on the bunkends 24/7.

I dry lube every part of my electric awning that moves at least twice a year including the piston. Haven't had any problems yet.

I just tie the top to the locking arms for the bunk. That way they do not fall. Use binder clips to hold the sides down.
