Upgraded TV!

Just took the 'new' tow vehicle and trailer for a test run.

Upgrade is a relative term. We've gone from a 2009 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab Long Bed to a 2003 Ford F-350 with a dumping flatbed.

What we lost in creature comforts was more than replaced by control!

The 19RD would 'argue' with the Taco: When something big passed us, we could feel the pressure wave work its way up the trailer.

NOT ANY MORE! Whatever the F-350 does, the trailer follows. No arguments, no shoving the truck's frame through the hitch!

Just a few tweaks needed to get things right. The brake controller and I have yet to reach a consensus. It's a bit slap-happy and turning it down just gives less overall stopping power. Maybe if I read the directions....

I'll have to see about setting the cruise control to be a bit more responsive. It lets the rig slow down too much when starting a hill.

The loudest noise at highway speeds is a wind whistle from the antenna.

All in all it is so worth it!!!

Great to hear - Love it when a plan comes together... I look forward to upgrading my F150 to a bit more truck for a better tow experience but it will be a while before I can make that happen.

(Isn't it so much better when you control the TT rather than the TT controlling you. Safety is always better than creature comforts)

arguments, no shoving the truck's frame through the hitch!

(Isn't it so much better when you have a properly rated TV to tow the load.)

Just a few tweaks needed to get things right. The brake controller and I have yet to reach a consensus. It's a bit slap-happy and turning it down just gives less overall stopping power. Maybe if I read the directions....

(Always best to read the directions when everything else fails)

(and just a personal thing for me But I never use cruise control as I like being able to control what the engine and trans are doing and I have found out that not using CC I get better MPG"s Not much better but better. And the same goes for OD. I don't use it when towing)

(And that is what most were trying to tell you.)

"Be careful, the light at the end of the ttunnel may be the headlight of the approaching train."

- Misquoted from some book of Murphy's laws

I'm kinda thick-headed that way. I'll listen to what everyone has to say. But until I experience it, the information remains ungroked.

Is that anything like,
"You can lead the horse to water but you can't make him drink it"
