Warranty info needed

Bought a new X17A from a dealer 200 miles from home since they were the closest ones with one in stock. We can't take it to the dealer for every little thing gone bad due to the distance from home. My question is: Will the local dealer in our home town make warranty repairs or be hesitant since we didn't buy from him? Thanks in advance!!!

All depends on the local dealer. Many have reported no issues with buying out of the area and having warranty service done locally, when others have had no such luck.

Unlike Automobile dealerships, RV dealerships aren't required to honor warranty work just because they sell the brand.

In my area, the local dealer, who I did NOT buy from, was very clear that they will do warranty work on units they didn't sell but it will have a much lower priority when compared to cash customers or units they sold.

If you want to try the local dealership, give the service manager a call and see what they say. If you have a list of minor nuisence items I suggest saving them up till after the season when dealerships service departments slow down and bring it to them then and understand they may have it a couple of weeks or more.

I only had a 2 very small warranty items, defective DVD player and some trim that came lose, had it only been the trim I would have addressed it myself but since the entire Jensen head unit needed to be replaced in order to address the DVD I just waited till my season was over and took it back to the selling dealer (approx 150 miles). They had it for 3 weeks, mainly waiting for the new Jenesen head unit to comeing but I had no issues with time since we were months away from the next trip.

If you have something major, and the local deal won't address it or won't address it quick enough, call Jayco and they will authorize addtitiona repair facilities to do the work. I am fortuate enough to have a RV Service only center, no RV Sales, and they will do warranty work if the MFG pre-Approves it.

Best of Luck

Give the local dealer a call. Warranty money is good and keeps their shop full. We have been to several different dealers and never have had a problem.
