Washer/Dryer

Hey Folks,

I've tried to do my own research and ask some fellow campers about this issue but I'm not having much luck. So any feedback would be appreciated. I have a Pinnacle 38FLSA. The long walk to and from the laundry mat is getting tiresome. ( Tough world, I know.) I've decided to buy a washer and dryer. Now in my closet, There's room for the washer and dryer but, I don't see any pre-existing hot and cold water lines to tap into. I do however see a black pipe running vertical in the front right corner of the closet. Can someone steer me in the right direction please?

I would start with Jayco. Contact them with your vin number, ask for the wiring, plumbing schematics. Let them know that you are thinking about installing a washer and drier. They should be able to tell you if it is prepped for one or not. If not the diagrams will let you know where you can tap into for the required utilities.

According to Jayco's website the washer prep is located in the cabinet in the bathroom for your model.

When we bought our Pinnacle, the lines were behind the cabinetry in the cupboard. The walls and shelves come out and the taps etc are all behind that.

x2. My 2011 had a small access panel and the 2014 requires more wall tear down to access, but it's there.

The water lines are hidden in the wall to the right of the cupboard. You have to cut part if the wall down to access them. They are about 3 1/2 ft above the floor. Once you remove the shelves you can easily cut the wall down to access them.

Thanks Ken & Ruth and Grumpy. I check out your advice and yep. The lines and faucets are installed and just waiting to be used. Now, to just find the most efficient washer and dryer brand. Any suggestions? Can I throw any brand in that cupboard as long as it fits within the dimensions?

I went with a Splendide washer/dryer combo. Would have liked a stacking set but they wouldn't fit in the space. Once you learn how to use the combo properly, they work great. Just read up other reviews on how to use. You can end up with some pretty wrinkled clothes if you don't follow other people's advice.

Christo, we bought our FLSA in Dec and included a dealer installed washer and dryer. I looked at a self install but very limited choices due to the cabinet height. My dealer installed a great set for 1200. The bad news caution is with the FLSA configuration, the w/d are all the way in the back and experience a lot of up down motion. Ours shifted on the first trip and ruptured a water line; excellent dealer owned the responsibilty and fixed it all toinclude some custon reinforcement braces. Ultimately I could not tell my DW that were living in Pinnacle luxury but she would have to go to the laundromat. The FLSA is the best choice we ever made and the w/d is the best option that we almost skipped. Enjoy it!
