Weight capacity of steps

Does anyone know what the weight capacity of the entry steps on Jayco TTs is? I've been searching online and can't find it listed anywhere.

I ask because during our family hunt in November my brother may be staying in my trailer. He's a big ol' boy. He is 6' 7" and weighs over 350.

I may have to come up with a way to modify the steps to add support.

Weight capacity

I can't help with the capacity but if you are concerned there is a simple and inexpensive solution. Cut treated 1 x 6 and 2 x 6 to the width of the step and stack them under the lower step. I've done this for years and it works.

I would imagine they are made by Lippert as 3/4 of the stuff on my camper has a LCI label on it. I went to their website to look real quick. I see lots of manuals and information but nothing that states capacities or other specs.

If you wanted to help support it, you could buy another one of those stabilizer jacks and put it under the steps. Probably need a board to span the distance but it would firm up the steps a bit more so there isn't as much flex and the bolts are not taking all the weight.

I believe the steel 3 step ones are 250lbs and the aluminum ones are 350 lbs. I think it varies if they are 2, 3 or 4 steps. If you go on the Camping World or Lippert sites, they will give you the exact weight capacity of them.

I've always wondered what the weight rating of the shower or tub base is. I reinforced mine.

That is a good question.

I think by themselves sitting on a good solid floor it'd be a lot. But sitting on 3/8 or 1/2" plywood suspended above the floor by short vertical 2x's makes it a gray area. Mine flexed a lot and I'm a shade above 225.

I am 185 and feel like I am going to go through mine. I plan on tearing it and building it correctly next summer.
