What could you do without ?

We have had a lot of threads about what we wish Jayco added to our RV's. What item(s) that came with your RV that you could do without ?

I could do without the TV... rarely watch it.

Outdoor shower, never used it doubtful I ever would.

Two fresh water tanks...never carry more than 5 -10 gallons anyway...I like FHU

Others ?

Never had a TV, and don't need one.
We use our two FW tanks all the time when boondocking.
We use our outside shower hookup for an outside kitchen sink or a shower to save on grey water.
We don"t ever use the CD player.
Never use the sink covers.
Never use the attached ladder.
Have only used the A/C twice in 4 years, but I still want the option of doing so when needed.

We rarely use the stereo. We never use the sink cover. We have no use for the outside t.v. bracket and mount. We have absolutely no use for the totally lame bbq; both is and the bracket/mount are bubble wrapped in storage.

Apparently I do not have any use for the outside grill package that comes with the new trailers... Was digging around in the garage one day looking for something and found two or three of them still in their original box... Only one was opened...

Gave them away haha... I did use the plateform from one of them to use for an quick setup outside table...

There are probably a few things on the RV unit that doesn't get used here but doubt if I would disconnect anything and get rid of it...

Someday - Somewhere you will probably hear me say "so that's what this thing is for" hehe

Many references to the outside shower which apparently should be an option since so few seem to use it much. Its also one more thing you have to winterize and would likely be one of the first things to freeze if not. Isn`t it strange the outside shower has a lock on it but fresh water fill does not? I would much rather someone borrowed some water from my shower rather then sabotage my fresh tank, lol.

Sink covers are sitting in the garage, outside shower used once to wash the dog and it made a mess so won't do that again and the oven is used for extra storage if needed. Also removed 2 of the 4 chairs from our table because it's just wifey & me.

I would skip the radio/CD player, and TV. I find the lights on them annoying at night! So bright!

Not to hijack the thread but I installed this locking cover a few years ago because my thoughts were the same.Click image for larger version

What could you do without ?

We have never used the stove, oven, microwave or outside shower on either of our campers. I believe we use everything else...

Outside speakers.

Other than that, most items mentioned we use frequently, occasionally, or might use someday. And, like Crabman, I'd rather have a locking fresh water fill than a locking outside shower.

We use our outside shower all the time. Rinsing off sandy feet after the beach, cleaning muddy shoes, rinsing out coolers, etc.

I can't think of anything we don't use. Some things like oven and heater only get used in the late fall and others like the outside kitchen, tv, fridge and shower only get used in the summer but everything finds a purpose.

I would agree with the outside BBQ grill. Ours is hooked to the back bumper. Who the heck wants to BBQ at the back of the camper while everyone else is enjoying sitting under the awning? Thought that was kind of lame.

The outside shower, definitely. I think I used it once to hose off the BBQ grill after cleaning it, that's about it. The outside courtesy light by the tongue is another thing that's never been used; we never hitch or unhitch in the dark. The shower massager setting on the shower head also never gets used. A normal shower head would have been sufficient for us. And the outside 120v plugs have gotten used once as well, I think.

But as for the sink covers, ours never came with a set and we needed them to increase the available counter space, so I made a set out of a big poly cutting board, and never looked back.

We've used the oven once, but it's just because our menu choices don't really go in that direction. Although, the cinnamon buns we made were a success, so that's something we'll do more often.
