4 inches of snow still on the ground melting rapidly. Tomorrow they're calling for severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes. As Chevy Chase said, "This is crazy.....This is crazy"

We got 5" of snow on Monday in Chicago (my 17 mile drive home from work only took me 1 hr 45 minutes) and today it is 41 and sunny. Heavy rains tonight and all day tomorrow with thunderstorms. The rain might freeze or turn to snow if the temp drops a degree or two. Heavy rain mixed with melting snow is a recipe for flooding.

48 degrees here yesterday and today. Our huge piles of snow didn't even notice, but roads are much clearer. Big storm tomorrow with 12 inches of snow expected. My daughters school is already closed for tomorrow.

Had a snowfall on Monday and Tuesday. Temps had warmed up so it was not unexpected. Warm so the snow just makes a sloppy mess for the most part.

Nuttin' but False Hope....... Got up to about 70 here today, but alas, back to reality.... 35 freakin' degrees tonight!!

But we did have mean weather here in southern Indiana, Illinois, and western Kentucky. Wind gusts up to 60 mph, tornados....

Several semis were blown over.... Crazy weather!!

Glsimms, I will switch with you! We had our first three days above freezing this week since about Thanksgiving. Right now we are getting 8-10 of heavy wet snow. The wind is picking up. Been told to expect 40-50 mph wind gusts through tomorrow early afternoon. Once the wind starts the temps are suppose to drop off close to zero. So that heavy wet snow will be like cement and once we dig out it will be like an ice skating rink around here for a while as it is not expected to warm up for a few weeks. Sounds like fun! NOT!

Planning a trip to MN in July. Should I bring my snow shoes?

Tried to get my wife to work this morning, broke trail for her with the truck, she got her AWD car stuck in a snowbank just before we got to a plowed road. Got her unstuck, said screw it and I led her back home. The daughter requested donuts from the local bakery, out in the truck I go again, turn the other way on our unplowed road, drifts were bigger, pulled the switch for the electronic locker to maximize my traction, burried the truck up to the windows on one side before I made it out to a plowed road. Had to have a friend come and plow around me and then pull me out. Finally got the bakery a hour later, they were closed because of the snow. Wish I took pictures, oh well.

Had tornado warnings here today, temps in the 60`s. Looks like the severe weather threat has passed without incident.

I am jealous- we are experiencing blizzard conditions in the UP of Michigan. High winds, drifting snow and in spots poor visability. Next week we have another polar vortex to look forward to with temps going down to minus 20.

Temps in the low 40s today and a thunderstorm rolling through at the moment. Supposedly it will be mid-40s through the weekend and then getting cold again next week.

Woke up this morning and our digital thermometer outside was reading -37 degrees Celcius (-34 Fahrenheit). This week looks cold too, high around -10 degrees Celcius mid week but it will be back into the deep freeze by the end of the week. Ryan.
