What safe do you have?

I am going to purchase a safe for my TT. I will probably go with a .71 cubic foot one from harbor freight, but thought i would ask what others use. I plan on keeping a pistol in it and my wallet and keys when at a beach or something. Also where do you mount yours? Thanks

Mine has a small safe as part of a standard option pkg. Also has several other hidy holes that are not to obvious.

I prefer not to talk about it but they are there.

It may or may not be in a wardrobe next to the bed.

Depends on what you want a safe for, security or fire protection. Many of the smaller safes have very little fire protection. Myself I'm more concerned about fire protection than security, there are plenty of small spaces to hide money, pistols etc where it would take someone a relatively long time to find. A fire in an RV almost always consumes the whole rig.

I use mine for light security as I have a toddler, so I need to make sure my "stuff" is always locked up if it's not on me.

The safe that Jayco included on their Eagle upgrade that I have is nothing more than a hidden box screwed to the floor with a lock on it.

To be honest, we have never used it.

I have been camping for over 40 years and never found it necessary to have a safe. I do lock the camper while we're at the beach but it's just a habit. Like somebody mentioned I hide my wallet somewhere nobody will find w/o spending hours inside the camper looking.

I never have a single firearm when I'm camping. I always have SEVERAL of them. They are always locked in a case in the SUV, and the SUV is always locked.

We always take a boat with us. The boat is always uncovered tied to a dock, with fishing poles, depth finder, PFD's, etc, etc in clear view. I DO take the ignition key with me when we aren't right there.

I have never had a problem in 45 years of camping. If i were afraid, I guess i would go somewhere else.

Firearms, though, are a different story. You must take all precautions possible to ensure their security. Secure them in your tow vehicle and install a quality aftermarket security system.

If I feel the need to carry, then I feel the need to have access to it especially when I'm sleeping with my family. When you need a weapon, you need it immediately, not, in a few minutes after I get my pants on and go to my vehicle and unlock the box to get it..... it's why we slept with our weapons in combat zones...literally. If I am comfortable leaving it 20 - 30 feet from me, than I don't need it at all and I would just leave it home.. JMHO.

I have no need for a safe now. I don't have any money left after buying the trailer and doing the mods.
