Where are all the Jayco's??

I recently spent 9 days going from Ontario, through New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New Brunswick, and back the same way.

Pulling a fifth wheel and going from campground to campground, you tend to notice all the other RV's.

My wife and I saw very few Jayco trailers. Maybe eight or ten, of the hundreds we saw, were Jayco.

Why is that?

I normally have just the opposite experience, see equal # of JAYCOs. It may just depend on what area you are traveling in or what time of the year.

I saw a bunch of Jaycos at the beach CG we were at this past week, but there is a Jayco dealer not far from there.

Where I live in Southern Indiana, I see some Jaycos, but more of the other brands, Coachman for example (there is a Coachmen dealer near us). And we also see a lot of Rockwoods too.

I had the same experience traveling 9 weeks this year out West and back to Ohio.
I looked for Jayco's at every stop and was surprised that there wasn't more.

People always talked highly of Jayco. Some other brands may cost less.

We stayed at Shenandoah Valley CG last summer, and there were something like 9 or 10 Jaycos within sight of our campsite. One of them was almost a copy of our 2004, just a slightly different floorplan. This past weekend, at Endless Caverns CG, there were 4 Jaycos within sight. There are a lot in the CGs in the Shenandoah Valley, even though there is no Jayco dealer in the area.

Most of our Travels are in the Southeast, we see quite a few Jayco RVs.

At our last stop in Fort Mill, SC (Charlotte NC area) we were parked next to another Pinnacle, with several Jayco's in the CG.

We are in Wrightsville Beach, NC (Wilmington NC area) this week and there are several Jayco's in this CG, saw a Jayco Swift pull in after dark last night when we were sitting outside.

During our travels on the highways in the Southeast we see a lot of RVs year round and do see a fair amount of Jayco RVs.

Boubou,
That's what I always try to look for on the road.
I have never ran into anyone with a decal from the forum.
Many people I talk too didn't know about the forum. I always tell them to check it out.

Doug

X2 Our sticker is on the rear window, but have not had anyone ask about it yet. Anytime I see a Jayco parked near us, I make an effort to make friends and tell them about the Forum. Most have not heard of it, and quite a few say they will check it out.

As a New Englander I can tell you Jayco is in the minority here. The nearest decent dealer is Forrest Marine in Massachusetts. The dealer in New Hampshire went out of business, the big Jayco dealership Maine tanked too. Lots of Keystone and Forest River dealers up here that are well established.

Where are all the Jayco's??

Got mine at forest marine and just spent 8 nights in North Conway at Saco River Camping area. Wow, what a nice campground. No activities, but we were not there to sit at the campground all day. We did spend 1 afternoon playing in the river on tubes. Anyways I wanted to say there were many jayco's there and 5 of us there with a whitehawk 28dsbh.

We just logged 3K miles since leaving TX Aug. 8, and have seen quite a few Jaycos. Mostly Jayflights, but also some Eagles, and one other WhiteHawk. We're currently in Yakima, WA, and heading for West Yellowstone over the next few days. Will report what we see later. ...

Last week we traveled from NY to Maine, going through NH, Mass. and also saw very few Jaycos. I think it is the area we were in. The campground we stayed in was filled with airstreams and pop ups and a few tear drops. I know around this area there are no tear drops or airstreams seen. We did see more campers on the road up there ten we have ever seen anywhere. Great area to go camping in.

Traveled to Michigan UP recently and saw alot of Jayco's, especially at Brimley State Park. Ironically, I don't see many when I vacation at our local CG's.

Just thought I'd bump this thread......

We just got back from Disneys' Fort Wilderness (Spring Break), and I'm happy to say that Jayco TT's of all types was very well represented, even though we didn't bring ours. We cheated and stayed in one of their wilderness homes.....

We are currently on a 2 year journey RV'ing throughout the US. We have seen many Jayco's with all the parks we have visited.

Agree, we need a Jayco Forums (proud member) Club sticker for our RV's... lol
