where to keep battery

Which way should I store my battery for the Canadian Winter?
I was planning on leaving it on the trailer and keep the trailer plugged into the 15amp house plug which will keep it trickle charged or should I remove it and bring it into the house without keeping it charged(no charger)

A fully charged battery will not freeze so if you have a high quality charger or at least check the water level regularly I would leave it in.

I was just going to use the trailer converter to charge it

I assume that your 2014 X17A has a 3 or 4 stage 'smart' converter/charger so it wouldn't over charge the battery, I would leave it in (in lieu of no charger).

I pull mine out and use in my ice fishing shack. If you decide to leave it in your trailer you will want to check on it quite often. If the charger would happen to quit working for any reason, cord unplugged, tripped breaker, power outage, etc, you will find a bad battery come spring. You may want to invest in a battery tender/charger and keep your battery where it can not freeze.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Battery tenders are pretty cheap. But then, do you have a reason you would rather leave it on the trailer? Like perhaps you want to spend some time out there frequently? Or you want to make a quick getaway? Whatever your reason, it might be a good enough one to leave it on the trailer. If there is no reason to leave it on the trailer, I'd put it on a tender in the garage, just my opinion.

I pull mine every time it goes in storage, but it's away from home, and there's no electricity there, so I pretty much have to do it that way.

We leave our pair of batteries in the trailer and on the converter, which is left connected to shore power 24/7 during the winter. System has a smart charger to keep it from overcharging the batteries. Never had a problem.

Well, if you lived in a place where you need to worry about whether or not you need to store your battery some place other than in your rv, you would know what ice fishing is.

Ice fishing a "sport" where you go out on a frozen lake with copious amounts of beer and see who can catch the largest icecube. Well actually you bore a hole through the ice and try to catch a fish...

I make sure mine is fully charged. I disconnect it and leave it in it's spot. I have never had a problem.

I pull mine out and leave them in an unheated (but attached) garage, place them on 2x6s and charge once a month.

I leave all batteries in their place fully charged with no load on them Have been doing so for years. After 5 months of no attention they are fine.
