A good way to purge the gas lines of air is to light up your stove burner for a few seconds.

I am planning on putting a couple of muffin fans inside the chimney at the top to help draw the heat out and make the fridge more efficient. That is on next year's mod list.

You should also check the little thermocouple, or whatever it's called, that attaches to the fridge cooling fins. It's the little clip on the fins that has wires going to it. Unclip it, clean the contacts, and reattach. This is what senses the temp and tells the fridge "more or less cooling please".
