Whitehawk 28DSBH shakedown success!!!

Had a great weekend in our new Whitehawk 28DSBH!! Tested everything and everything and it works great. Had a little problem with the radio but found out it was operator error. We had no issues and really enjoyed ourselves! Unit pulled great; which I was worried about, not because of unit but because I not used to pulling a unit this large. Glad we decided on a Jayco.

Glad to hear your first adventure turned out well. We'll be taking our Whitehawk 28dsbh out for its first weekender in two weeks, but may surprise the kids and pull a sleepover in the trailer this long weekend. We'll see how the DW feels about it.

How did your unit hold up? Any issues ?

I had no problems with the unit. There 1/4 space on each side of the front bed which will need to be addressed. The crack is intentional by the factory, but if i forget to close a storage compartment the bugs could get inside the camper. Mosquitos are bad in Mississippi. I'm going to calk it. If you open the storage bin, sit down on the couch, and look left you can see sunlight.

Overall we love it and the everyone was comfortable. We had 4 adults and a 5 year old with us and we had more than enough room. Cannot wait to go again in two weeks.

Nice pictures... thanks for sharing. Your trailer looks great.

I too have the same gap beside the bed frame. If storage is open I can see daylight as well. A little caulking should do the trick. I noticed you have two large grab handles for the door entrance ways... did the bathroom one come with your unit? I have a smaller standard handle by my bathroom door.

What kind of prep work did you do before your first trip and how did it pull behing your Doge 1500 ? I'm going to guess ,very easily.

I'm glad all went well for your first adventure. Was the DW happy ? Because we know that's the most important thing.

This weekend I'm doing an overnighter at my work ( that's where I keep the trailer ) and then next weekend is the true maiden voyage. Can't wait !

Congrats on a successful Shakedown !

As far as the large grab handle is concerned we had that installed by the dealer. My wife thought it would be best to have installed. She also loves our trailer, but if you saw our old unit (1991 Innsbruck Lite) anything is better.

The Dodge pulled it just fine. I was a little nervous but the truck did well. We had no issues.

Good luck on your trip!!!
