I prefer to drive and hubby prefers that I do drive! I've gotten good with gas station stops, but still get out when it's time to back into the camping site.

My DW is a hundred pounds of driving machine! Looks cute as hell sitting in the driver's seat of my dually. Once years ago we left Maryland headed for Colorado. She took the wheel somewhere in Ohio, agreeing to stop for the night in the Indianapolis area while I napped. Woke up in Bettendorf Iowa, 925 miles from home! She drove professionally for 35 years, I should add. :hihi:

I've always driven but every year encourage my wife to give it a go. She is showing more interest and think that next camping season will be the year she will drive. Yikes! ( just kiddin) she actually is a pretty good driver.

P.S.- I had a heart attack at 7000 feet north of Payson, Az while bobtailing it to the 5er in Apache Junction, Az. She took the wheel and delivered me to the ER in Payson- I had a chopper ride to the Heart clinic in Mesa, Az. She drove the truck down to the Heart clinic and arrived just as I was being wheeled in surgery- Having past experience towing made it possible for her to handle the stress on her at that time- She's a KEEPER- JMHO- DD

We take turns driving our TV. But I am still working on backing up with the HTT.

My DW is a short 5'2", but the adjustable pedals on our F350 crew cab FWD enable her to reach them, and she drives it with no hesitation. She has also learned how to hitch and un-hitch the 5er, and plans on learning to tow it and park it next camping season. I wanted to make sure that if something disabling happens to me while on a trip, she could jump right in and get us home. She has also had much experience in remodeling a house, and I mean carpentry work, too. Pretty much not afraid to tackle the unknown. A real KEEPER for sure.

I do all the driving. I think if my wife drove I would stay home. I am not a good passenger in anything.

I do all the driving.

DW will back up while I hitch up. She will however, drive out of the park, but that's it. She does not like to tow a trailer, but will if the need arrives.

DW hasn't driven with the new 5'er in tow, but she would spell me when we had our travel trailer, so I expect she'll give it a shot again next summer.

My wife pulled the PU with no problem. She'll learn to pull the TT next year, but only forwards.

She has a real phobia of backing up.

I don't mind driving, I prefer to drive. She's good for a break on the straight lol

I drive 100% while in tow but my wife can drive the dually just not hooked up. I have not trained her behind the wheel yet in case she needs to pull it combined. I know she can do it, and I have had her more involved with the process so she knows the total process should she ever need to do it. That includes total disconnect and hookup.

I keep saying we are going to do it while on a longer trip with less turns to get a handle of it, but never get there. This season it will be done for sure. Around the block a few times as well to learn the turning process. I've explained the process and what stuff does and why, hopefully she was listening.

Being that both of us were professional drivers for 20 plus years once upon a time, she refuses to drive and this makes me oh so happy.

DW won't take a turn at the wheel on our way down to Phoenix this weekend. She'll be busy pulling our quads with her Expy.
