Who pulls the trailer?

How many of you change drivers when on a trip with your trailer? Sallie tows our trailer on a regular basis. She also towed our old 5er with a small flat trailer behind it.

Wife refuses to drive, she feels too intimidated to even drive my truck let alone pulling our TT

Same here. She used to tow the popup with her Odyssey when we went on trips.

I had all I could do to talk her into pulling down the road slow (neighborhood road) and let me walk behind. New trailer and sounds. I wanted to know where they where all coming from.

Peggy won't tow the TT She is also intimidated by it. A couple of years ago We were at Jekyll Island,Ga. riding our bicycles when a car ran a stop sign. I reacted by hitting both the front and back brakes.Font locked up. Ended up with a separated Shoulder. I could not drive. Peggy won't do it. So she called our son to get her car and come down and tow the TT home. She drove me home in her car. Fast forward to today-----"SHE STILL WON'T PULL THE CAMPER"

My DW is intimidated by the size of my TV alone so there is no way she would ever tow. After 5 years of owning my 4WD2500 HD, I finally made her try it (in case of an emergency) and she did fine, but still did not have the 5er attached when she drove it. I doubt she would ever do it.

My DW does not like to drive in the first place. In 5 years she has driven the truck maybe 6 times. On our second trip she pulled the trailer from the campsite to the dump station. It was about 1.5 miles down a windy gravel road. She did great. But she has never pulled it to on the open road.

This looks like a good polling qustions.

My wife is also intimidated by the TV as well, she feels she can't see over the hood well enough to drive it. I am hoping over time I can convince her otherwise, but I am sure that is an overly optimistic view. Until then, i am the one who does all the driving with the trailer.

my girl can work her turbo mazda with a 6 speed manual pretty well.... and she drives gigantor all the time, she's even spelled me on a few trips to FL with the boat in tow, dragged around the tandem flat bed as well, but she balked with the camper!!!

she said it was just too big, and she couldn't see past the camper, so that one is all mine, apparently.

Linda will drive the F-350, but no way will she drive when the TT is attached. She can't believe the combo truck and TT is 60 feet long. Were longer then Semi rolling down the road.

My wife and I share the driving except where I think their might be serious problems. I have seen too many times where the spouse has been hurt and the other had to drive the rig for the first time. Most recently at a fly fishing outing one of our members hurt his hand and could not drive ( lots of pain pills sling etc) wife had to take the "crash" course to get home. He had the benifit of pills she did not. Besides it nice to be able to relax on a long trip and look at the world and realy pay attention to how the rig is doing. Funny we have some rigs that oly the women drive so it works both ways..

DW inflicted dammage on previous truck twice. She can barely drive her Corolla. No way would I turn her loose in new truck, much less attached to the trailer. (Good thing she doesn't read these boards )

My wife loves to drive the F250 but prefers I do the towing. She will tow in a pinch but only if she has to. She pulled our pup once or twice, but the only pulling she has done with the 30U is to pull it up onto blocks so I could change a blowout.

I do all the driving, but SO has driven with trailer in tow, just in case the need ever presents itself, which we both hope never happens!

We have been fulltiming since July 1, 1999- Over the years, I have taught my DW how to tow our rv- She does great on the open road but will not try to back the fiver into a campsite- But that is a story for another day- I know she could do it if she tried- She has a tendancy to tow a little faster than I feel comfortable with but I need for her to spell me when we are traveling- I am not too uncomfortable that I can't catch a few winks while she's tooling down the road though- She is a bit wary in construction areas and this is good- JMHO- DD

My wife has no problem driving the truck by itself but is very nervous about towing. She will do it eventually but i am waiting for her to get a little more confidence first.
