Why No Screen Door Lever?

We went to the Hershey RV show last week and had a blast. We spent many, MANY hours at the Jayco dealer and I couldn't help but notice something. The Jayco swift models had a clear sliding piece of plastic for the screen door. There was a black circle thing that you would push down to open the screen door from inside the trailer, without having to slide the door open. (For the life if me I don't know why ALL trailers don't come equipped like this.)

Anyway, this was only installed on the Swift models. Why would this only be on the, no offense, low end Jayco models? Doesn't make sense. When we signed the paperwork for our White Hawk I asked the Salesmen to install the screen door levers if they stock them. He wasn't sure if they sold them or not. We'll see in a few days. lol

Great question! Had the same clear door with round latch in the Shasta and it worked great. This is one feature we miss on the Eagle HT. i looked around to replace the small latch door and was not able to find one but found something else which I will be installing this week end.
The door bar will also get installed. Did it to the last TT and really liked it

Our 2012 26BH has the handle that doesn't require opening the slider to open. We love it!

Here: http://www.rvscreendoorhandle.com/ is where I purchased mine. They make a model for the Jayco door with the flat slide panel. You need to call them and specify which door you have. Real good customer service.

CW has a latch release but it did not look like it would work with the flat slide panel due to clearance.

There are likely others but this is who I dealt with.

Our 2012 26BH is the same way. I guess I didn't pay that close attention to the other units we looked at while shopping for our camper, I thought all the Jaycos were like that.

Nice looking. Looks like it's made from a plastic toilet lever. Do ya think you'll need to jiggle the handle?

I have no idea what the thing I saw at the show was. You'd have to contact Jayco and ask them about it since it was only on the Swift line as far as I could tell.

I bought these although I haven't installed them yet.

I have installed that too but it's not ideal. Better than nothing but I do prefer the other missing option

2" piece of 1/4" oak dowel rod and a 1/4" rubber grommet. Drilled a hole and was in business for $1.49...the cost of a 10 pack of grommets.

===========================

I installed that last year. They work but you have to keep adjusting it as the knob slowly slids down the rubber grommet. I'm going to keep looking..
Happy trails,
