Will this work for solar?

Found this today. Wondering if this will work for keeping my battery charged. My 5th wheel is solar ready.

Now a clicky.

I don't think anyone will be able to give you a definitive answer to your question unless you are much more specific about what you use when operating on battery power. That said, an 80 watt panel is very small in terms of its ability to recharge your battery, even assuming that you have full sun all day, get it out early in the A.M. and keep rotating it to face the sun directly as the day progresses.

Hi Jason,
Why not purchase the Renogy 100 Watt starter kit. More watts, EXCELLENT mfr, should care for you battery needs with ease, unless you drain it below the 50% level (12VDC)

Be careful..... Solar can suck you in.

While the kit you listed may keep a single battery charged, the inverter will use more battery and leave you looking for an upgrade. This system has no room in the components to add more panels.

I'm guessing the inverter is just a modified sine wave, so nothing special.

Don (Mustang) makes a solid recommendation in the Renogy starter kit. I bought a 200 watt starter kit a few weeks back and used it for 10 days in Glacier to keep my two 6 volt batteries charged up. Worked wonderfully. I didn't need to worry about being at the campground for generator hours to charge. I used them as portable panels (laid flat or leaned against chairs) and they kept the batteries in good shape the whole time. I'm planning to make a few adjustments and additions in the near future, such as a stand for them and 25' extension cord for them. Also planning on adding an inverter to run the TV and other light items.

I would highly recommend!
