Will tv and entertainment system operate on battery? How long?

Hi everyone, the dvd part of my Jensen AWM 970 entertainment system is not working properly. I spoke with Jensen today and they told me to "reset" the unit and see if that helps. My problem is that where I store my camper there is no power. First thing I have to do is slide out the main slide to get to the unit, then turn the unit on, turn the tv on and watch a movie to see if the reset helped, then slide the slide back in. Will a fully charged battery hold up to this? Thanks for any help, Terry

If you have a 12 volt television then it should work, Most likely you have a 120 volt television then it won't work. Haven't really seen to many 12 television in a RV. The Jensen radio will work though.

Yes...it will work fine. I run my TV and entertainment center off of a 400W Wagan MSW inverter plugged into the 12VDC TV plug adapter port. True Bliss. I am able to watch TV or movies for many hours (of course, I have twin 27-series deep cycle batteries....but even a single 24 series will get you what you need, at least long enough to do the test you are talking about.) This is typically when we are boondocking. I then recharge the batteries the next day with 7 watt solar panel.
When I am not watching a DVD (ie, when watching OTA from the antenna), I simply plug my TV into the 12VDC port without the inverter. I should mention, my TV is a 22 inch NAXA flat screen LED HDTV from Amazon for less than 200 bucks. The inverter was 40 bucks.....has two 120VAC plug-ins, and two USB ports for charging Ipads, androids, GPS, etc. The TV is 12VDC and includes a 120VAC-to-12VDC adapter and draws 60watts (since the voltage is converted from 120VAC to 12VDC there is no need for PSW inverter). The Entertainment center draws 160 Watts when watching a DVD and has no problems on MSW either. Hope this helps.

From the factory, your television will not work on the battery. If you spend the proper amount of money you can make it work.
